“We think it’s really important to have this available, especially for students who have to be working from home,” said LREC CEO Hamid Vahdatipour.
A reliable internet connection provided by a co-op was a game-changer for Tahlequah residents trying to stay connected.
“If it weren’t for Lake Region Electric Cooperative, completing homework through distance learning, seeking help with taxes or telemedicine, or just staying in touch with loved ones might be impossible right now,” the Tahlequah Daily Press editorial board wrote.
LREC brought Cherokee County together during the pandemic — and those virtual connections won’t be going away any time soon.
